Housed at the iconic Improv Comedy Club's new Brooklyn location, Broadway in Brooklyn harkens back to the Improv’s 1960s roots, when founder Budd Friedman opened an intimate space for Broadway performers to gather after their shows. Soon, artists like Judy Garland, Liza Minnelli, Bette Midler and Barry Manilow found their way to the club’s signature piano, bringing music, theatricality and storytelling to gathering late night audiences. Before long, comedian Dave Astor stepped up to the mic to try out his material, and a new form of live entertainment was born - stand-up comedy.
Broadway in Brooklyn honors that legacy, reuniting Broadway stars and music with the legendary Improv stage, now in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
